A knot in my back
Hey guys, I could use a little help with this. Every once and a while I get a knot in my back halfway from my shoulder blade to my spine. It is very uncomfortable and limits my mobility a bit. Any idea what causes this and how do I get rid of it?

it's more then likely a muscle knot, you get them from working out or running or lifting heavy objects. the muscle never gets in a relaxed state and continues to work. my suggestion is take a day off from working out, maybe two...

Got muscle relaxers and pain pills for those. It is starting to loosen up. I get them a lot so I am used to them. Just wondering if there is anything to get rid of them fast. I have even played games with them. Adrenaline gets going and I forget all about it until the games are done.

Try some time off for about a week and take a muscle relaxer every night before bed.
I get them where the screws and rods are in my back. The muscles get a little aggravated rubbing on the hardware and they will knot up.
This is the main reason I dont do tournies any more. If I get too long of a break between games I get so stiff in that area it looks like Ive got a corn cobb up my butt when I walk.

Thanks for the advice. The knot actually worked it's way out. When I get them it feels like my back needs to get cracked. Just didn't have anyone to do that at home.

try reall stretching you back a lot more each day really focus on things that pull in that area. the more you stretch the area the less likely it will be to knot and the quicker the knots you get will go away. I have a specialied stick I use to roll over mine when they get that way but a rolling pen works the same way to help relax the muscle and smooth it back out in a sense. Figured I wouldn't throw a ton of tehnical jargin out there, you can also stand on a corner of a door frame like a bear scratching his back on a tree and push in on the not it helps to ease the tension and pain
