I watched her video again. She has good hands. The pitches she misses look to be the better swings to me. Bat goes all the way around and her hips open up. I didn't watch her head to see if she is pulling it out which would cause her to miss the ball.

She is pretty athletic, with a little tecnique she could be pretty solid. Other then the points you guys already made on my swing anything else you see good or bad. I have gotten considerbly stronger over the winter, before summer was over i was able to hit it out of a baseball field down the lines so I'm hoping with more strength I improve the speed of the ball off my bat and also the distance it travels

You get the hands back and the swing looks fluid. Too me that is one of the most important things. If you get a chance watch your video again. Focus on when the foot gets down in relation to when your hands start moving forward. I may be wrong but I always thought the steps are suppose to be front foot down, hips open up and hands move forward. The strength always help. Dont forget the core work.

I will work on that. Gunna hit the cage tomorrow and see if I can catch my self being opened up to early. I do think that the pitch type that comes out of the machine doesn't help, but still this is definalty something to focus on. My core is the strongest part of my body, over the past 10 years I have trained to be a hockey player. In hockey core is so important, lucky for me its a big part of softball too. I guess I got a head start on my softball training without knowing

One thing i noticed with you taking that long stride when you load your hands you have a little bit of bat wrap and get it way back around your head which causes you to have a little bit slower swing. Wneh you load you already start with your hands high so if you load back a little more and not so much around your head you will be able to attack the ball a little quicker then having to fight your way around to the ball it will allow you to have a little more whip in your swing creating more bat speed for better ball travel. Other than that I think the fellas covered you pretty good on cutting down the stride a bit or at least making sure you get your foot down sooner.
Just remember you said something about the pitch being a little flat and quick for your taste if you ever start playing any Utrip turny ball a pitcher will use that against you with that high leg kick so be able to get it down quick to hit against that stiff front side.

Demarini is right about tourney ball. You have a long stride and a long load time. Between the pump fakes and the flat pitch a good tourney pitcher will have you all bound up.

I think there is a lot of good in that swing! I agree with Demarini on the bat wrap. Think about reaching the endcap towards the backstop not around your head. Rusty B. preaches this.. I have tested the speed difference with a meter and I was surprised that I lost no speed with less wrap. This also makes your swing more compact which helps you be more consistent. That helps a lot in UTrip.
It looks like you use you legs well and have good, quick hip rotation. Your hands seem fast and it looks like you get good extension. I don't think you are going to have any issues with the long stride once you eliminate the wrap. Your stride is quick enough IMO.
Your balance looks off on you follow through though. I think this might be a symptom of you not transferring enough of your weight to the front side leg. At least it looks that way. Think about driving that front shoulder to the ball as it is coming in.

Also, Try to eliminate too much unnecessary movement like the bat waggle. A good Utrip pitcher will use this against you. I am trying to break myself of the same habit! =)

We may have picked up the same thing Kinetic. I didn't think his stride was too long he just seemed to be starting his hands while he was still striding. Maybe I am wrong. You are right that the hips seem to fire nicely. I just thought there was a little timing issue with the stride, hips and hands. Not much as he is making good contact. To get my foot down in time I shorten up my stride but it isn't necessary to take a small stride to accomplish this.
