Default Great Day for BP

Had a wonderful day down here and decided to get out and spend it hitting away with the fellas. Anyone else have decent enough weather lately to be out hitting? We got in a good 3 hours today and really enjoyed ourselves and a few of the guys are making decent progress. Oh DeMerts and Star its a wrap the DeMarini ONE is a must have, mine came in this past week, took it out of the wrapper today at the field and hit the first ball about 350. The feel is incredible and the out of the wrapper pop is unbelieveable. The feel with this stick and the stiffer handle really allows you to still back it down and judy the ball without feeling like the bat is wrapping around the ball. Great bat for the long baller and placement hitter alike

Got an hour in myself with some of my old teammates. Hit in shorts and a t-shirt. I am sure the bat is as great as you guys say but I am going to have a tough time justifying buying another composite when I already have one an am not playing in any leagues that allow them and a very limited tournament schedule. Not to say I am not going to try...lol

I have never had a 2 piece bat before and just got a Demarini the one USSSA and did not really seam to get any solid hits. Do you hit any different with them than a one piece or just take getting use to ,because every hit felt dead or off the end cap even if it was not.

Sounds more like a swing mechanic problem than anything else. If you are feeling like everything you hit is off of the end cap I can think of two things. Either your previous bat's sweet spot was towards the end and the One's isn't or you are pulling off of the ball. I have never really noticed much difference between the few two piece bats I have swung and my one pieces but I have had limited experience with two pieces. I have heard that many have a very whippy feeling which will require a more relaxed swing or the head will get out ahead...which may be what you are experiencing. But from what I have heard the One is suppose to have a very stiff handle.

I was outside hitting off my tee the last 2 days. There is still snow on the ground, and some parts are very muddy but whatever a pair of winter boots solved that problem for me. It was great to be out, I cant wait for the snow to leave so we can start pitching to each other

What is your season like two weeks up there...lol
good to hear you are working on the swing. our field was like walking in quick sand but it was great to be outside. suppose to get rain here at end of week so fields won't be drying anytime soon. that's ok, may give me the time this weekend to build my tee and get used to having the new baby around.

I normaly hit well and hit bombs or off the fence with my one piece bat ,but i will give it another try as soon as I get more one on one bp. It's harder to work with somthing like getting used to useing the 2 piece at a team bp practice. My mechanices are good i normaly just wait & explode through the ball with no problem. I put down my demarini and picked up my Virus Plauge and hit 2 no doubt homeruns & 1 off the fence.

Another great day here today, got done teaching and went down and drug the field and was able to hit some BP with a couple of coachs who also play softball before practice started. It was right around 60 again today, so its been beautiful to be out in the last three days.
