Default It 'aint over 'til it's over!

Truer words have never been spoken.

We were playing in an "A" National Qualifier. We lost a game early on and had to come through the Loser Bracket. We made it to the finals and we needed to double dip Roofing Consultants. We were being Run-Ruled in the 5th inning. With 2 outs Brad hits a weak grounder to the pitcher. Brad slowly jogs towards first base. The pitcher holds the ball then taunts Brad. Curses started flying. The pitcher tosses the ball to first base but the toss was over the head of the first baseman. Brad was safe. We score a couple of runs and extend the game.

We shut them down in the bottom of the 5th. 6th inning we score some more and shut them down in the bottom of the 6th. 7th inning we take the lead and eventually win the game. But we still needed to beat them one more time.

The second game starts. It was pretty much over before too long. With a series of homeruns and extra base hits, we Run-Ruled the Roofing Consultants and win the tournament and the berth to Nationals. We finished 13th Class A Nationals in Parma Ohio.

We were "a good throw to first" away from losing. You never know.
