Default Easton Salvo

Had the chance to see this bat in action last night. Lots of raves from what I see on the message boards. Is it all HYPE?....Not really 100% sure. But BigYankesFan and a few of his teammates used the Salvo last night and so far...I'm NOT impressed. BYF is a BIG prison guard....Not the best swing you've ever seen but he has raw power. And by big I mean almost 7' x 300lbs. It did seem to have decent pop. Made the typical Easton sound....You know stiff sounding. They all said it felt stiff, which is also typical, especially to guys that usually swing Combats.

I did not actually get the chance to swing it so maybe I shouldn't compare the 2. But so far from what I've seen and what I know the other guys are capable of....The SRV4 Speed has the edge IMO.

But maybe that would change if I was the guy swinging it.

I watched the Salvo hit again this weekend...Couple of guys had it. Not a 1 of them even challenged the fence nor hit the ball all that hard. But I tell you, the ASA Helmer SRV3 sure does catch my eye now.Nice feeling endload and it seemed to hit the Worth Gold Dots well too.

I laughed when I heard a guy bragging to his team about how he got this pre-production bat and he's the only 1 who has it b/c it's not out to stores yet. Guy was acting like a real " I'm the best" tool about it too. I TRIED to keep my mouth shut but I had to bust this guy....

"Sorry guy, I don't know where you're from but that bat is out in stores and has been for a while now. I also had 1 a few months back , used it and sold it already. Stick with it, you'll like it when it breaks in."

The bat ....Easton SRV4.

Whew, looks like I got here just in time I don't know if you people are on something, your air is different, balls are different, or if you just hate Easton but I will tell you I love my Salvo and the SSR2 I had. I have also been impressed with the SRV3. The SRV4 was only so so for me. Here we play with .40 Core 375 Compression balls and I personally have hit close to the 400 mark with the salvo. The SSR2 and the SRV3 were both very consistent and I could hit them 325 fairly regularly due to a massive sweet spot. I have a 27.5 oz JH98 in my bag that is fully broken in, I have a 27 oz Reaper that the 1st cracks has appeared on, I have a May98 fully broken in and I still choose Salvo over the rest. Not to mention it is $175 or less if you know where to look. Just my thoughts on the matter gents. I'm not big on hype, I just call um like I sees um. One thing I will say is that I have heard multiple rumors of the post abi bats losing pop after 1,000 swings or so. IDK if it is true or not, but my Salvo is approaching 1,000 hits now and I hit a 330' Grand Slam with it yesterday....ok brag post done...
